Clinical Preceptor & Faculty Training

CLINICAL FACULTY DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY

Are you a nurse? Clinical nursing instructor? Clinical nursing faculty? Interested in strengthening your clinical education skills and strategies?  


Attend the five-day (40 hour) workshop in full and complete three coaching sessions (one 60 min session a month for three months following the workshop)

  • Legal and ethical issues in nursing education

PRECEPTOR 101

Are you a nursing clinical professional interested in learning more about precepting?  This series offers introductory skills designed for clinicians interested in a role as clinical educators within their practice.

Clinical professionals (e.g., RN, ADN, BSN, APRN, etc.) with an interest in preceptorship are encouraged to participate.


This Preceptor Training Series will be held in a virtual setting via Zoom.

Lunch and Learns

Professionalism in Precepting

Join the Lunch and Learn on Professionalism in Precepting-Guiding the Next Generatoin of Nurses. 


This education will be presented by Marie Heyer, BSN, RN. She works as a Labor and Delivery nurse at the largest Family Birth Center in Minnesota, where she mentors students,interns and new graduates. Within her role of precepting, she prioritizes professionalism, supportive learning environments and constructive conversations to guide the development of new nurses. Marie has a passion for bridging the gap between maintaining the core of precepting and welcoming new insights brought by the next generation of nurses.


This education is brought to us by the Montana Area Health Education Center as part of the HRSA Region 8 Preceptor and Faculty Grant.

Preparing Practice-Ready Nurses: Assessment, Feedback, and Communication Grounded in Faculty Self-Reflection and Emotional Intelligence

Nurse educators are navigating increasing complexity in academia and clinical practice while supporting diverse, neurodiverse, and evolving student populations. This highly interactive session uses real-world student scenarios to build practical skills for effective communication, assessment/evaluation, and feedback. Participants will practice tools to address challenging situations, support student learning to strengthen clinical judgment, applying tools to their own real challenges to apply strategies immediately.
