The focus of this year's summit is on self-care, assessment of learning, and the shift toward competency-based nursing education (CBE). As you may know, we are being called to radically transform nursing education (YET AGAIN!!!) to meet the needs of today's students and the evolving healthcare environment. With this in mind, we have some expert presenters lined up to help all of us meet our goals.
Based on feedback from the last summit, we have decided to focus part of the Monday showcase on simulation (including VR). As we know, active learning is key--and there is no place better to engage students and assess competency than in the simulation lab.
The vision for the showcase is to share completely. If you have a simulation that is engaging and effective, we invite you to share everything with the group--including student prep, simulation structure/frames, and assessment of learning. Please share your expertise so others may benefit. You can show videos, share any files that you are comfortable with, and present your process.
Here is a link to the showcase schedule. Please sign up for a spot and prepare to share the exciting things you are doing! There is so much talent in Wyoming and we would like to see it.
Here is the link for registration. The event is being offered at no cost to you, thanks to the generosity of the Wyoming Center for Nursing. I am very pleased to announce that the Center is able to offer scholarships to offset the cost of attendance again this year. You will find more information on the registration form. The scholarships are first come, first served--so be sure to sign up now!
